This is one of my oldest AI generated images, and it definitely looks it.
I know it looks kinda shitty. But every time I see it it makes me smile, and everyone I’ve shown it to also smiles. I’m rocking a near 100% smile rate with this thing, you can’t deny those kinds of numbers.
It began, like so many experiments, with a question:
What if my dog was religious?
The rest, I guess, is history. Once I started mining the vein of Ethiopian Orthodox in the prompt the label improved dramatically, those folks have such a good colour palette.
The beer itself took a little longer to develop. I was deep in one of the most depraved and twisted corners of the internet - a home brewer forum. I stumbled across someone claiming that WB-06 (a fermentis hefe yeast) was secretly the strain from Duvel. I thought it was bullshit. The yeast is pretty good, I’ve made some good Munich style Hefeweizens with it in the past, but that is not the same as a Belgian ester expression.
I thought I’d try it out, but at the last minute I got cold feet. I ended up pitching WB-06 with BE-256 (Belgian Abbey strain) at a 2:1 ratio. I haven’t co-pitched yeast very much, but holy shit. I love it. It feels more subtle and complex a the same time.
But the question still remains: is WB-06 the secret Duvel strain? I guess I’ll never know. If you make one, send a can my way. But I still maintain that it’s bullshit.
Also what if my dog was religious?
